About Me
I'm Steven Sinclair and I was born in Caithness. I grew up in Dunbeath and I always had a keen interest in music from a very young age. There was no music in my family however my granny from Dunbeath always would put on and play music to me. I joined Inverness Hospital Radio and became a member in February 2022. I have been involved in radio since 2012 presenting and producing weekly radio programmes.
I have a huge knowledge of Music and Radio. I play the Accordion and Keyboard and have a big love for Country and Scottish Music. I have become interested in all forms of Country and Scottish music and have checked out artists to add to my varied record collection. I have enjoyed going to the local Accordion & Fiddle Club's, the Country clubs and also to music concerts and festivals.
I am always keen to have guest artists on the show for a chat and you can hear the interviews on the programmes from time to time. The artists have said when I interview it's like having a conversation with a friend and I ask the right questions, the questions you would want to know the answers to. I have interviewed the cream of country music world since starting out interviewing artists in 2014, I have recorded over 60 interviews with all different artists whether it be chatting to the artists on the phone for a telephone interview or catching up with the artists face to face at live festivals/concerts etc. When I'm not on air I work part time in my local supermarket and love Walking and Reading and of course practicing and playing my Accordion and Piano.
I began learning to play Piano and Keyboard at the age of 7 and was taught and got weekly lessons from Kate Bain, from Caithness. I got my first Accordion for Christmas a couple of years later and began learning to play the Box at the age of 11 and was taught and got weekly lessons from Addie Harper Jnr, from Caithness.
Why Do You Volunteer for Highland Hospital Radio
The reason I volunteer and chose to become a member of Highland Hospital Radio was as I feel It’s good to be involved with and is a great way to make life better for patients in hospital and aid there recovery. Also, because of my keen interest in Radio Broadcasting and I feel it's a great opportunity to share my kind of music and get it out there in the Inverness Hospital Radio area. I also thought it would be good to volunteer for Inverness Hospital Radio if they were looking for new members which they were.
