The Saturday Drop In Meets ILM Highland
ILM Highland is a social enterprise an d charity based in Alness. The organisation began life in 1994 as ‘Immediate Labour Market’ with the aim to support vulnerable people into sustainable employment, hence the name.
Overtime they have adapted to the needs of the community by providing free home improvement services to the vulnerable in the community such as the elderly or those living with a disability to enable them to spend more time at their own home giving them a greater sense of freedom and a positive impact on their lives.
Additionally, ILM Highland operate an electrical waste recycling service. Collecting household and business electronics, refurbishing and repairing them and then selling them through their shop. The profits from the service are reinvested to continue the work of supporting the vulnerable stay longer in their own home.
Martin from ILM Highland popped in to speak to us at Highland Hospital Radio to tell us all about the services he and his team provide. Martin is really passionate about the amazing work they do across Sutherland and Ross-shire, and beyond.
