Addictive Eaters Anonymous

Eating disorders are serious mental health conditions. Someone with an eating disorder will have eating behaviours like eating too much or too little regularly. They’ll also spend a lot of time thinking about food and their weight or body shape.

Eating disorders can have a significant impact on health, wellbeing, and relationships. They can also have an impact on your day to day activities.

There are different types of eating and feeding disorders, including:

Estimates state around 1.25 million people in the UK have an eating disorder.

Treatment for eating disorders varies from individual to individual and support is available from several clinical and non-clinical groups.


A group offering support to those living with an eating and feeding disorder are Addictive Eaters Anonymous.

Although a national organisation, there are local groups meeting across the Highland area.

As part of the 'Be My Guest' series. Three members of the local Addictive Eaters Anonymous group joined Tom Nelson to discuss their own experiences and how becoming members of their local group has supported them in improving thier own condition.
